As the Pappajohn Sculpture Park nears its one year anniversary, the Des Moines Art Center is offering guided audio tours, without the need for a headset. All anyone visiting the park needs to take advantage of the audio tour is a cell phone and a phone number. Visitors will be able to call the number and input a sculpture code, that's listed on each piece's description, to learn more about it. Each description will last from between 1 to 4 minutes and is narrated by a member of the Des Moines Art Center. The tour is intended to allow visitors to become more knowledgeable about the park and its sculptures, without having a tour guide on-hand to narrate. The audio tours will also offer visitors a chance to record their own thoughts on the sculptures, a unique feature that the Des Moines Art Center hopes, will give them valuable feedback about the park. |
