Abstract
96 percent of the United States public walks around with a cell phone. 50 percent of the U.S. public will carry a data-enabled device by Quarter I of 2012, and this is an important milestone for the cultural learning space. The advent and development of using mobile technology to enhance the visitor experience has produced various benefits for national, state and local parks, museums, art galleries, visitors' bureaus, zoos, colleges, gardens, historic sites and more. Mobile tour technologies have eliminated the need for capital expenditures on equipment as services are delivered through the visitor's own mobile device. New solutions to consider for engaging guests include mobile web tours, mobile giving campaigns, text messaging, Smartphone apps, QR codes and surveys.

Learn how to extend the reach and impact of your site by utilizing these features for smart, functional, quick access to information and improved relationships with visitors. When venues help visitors access and share their learning experiences, everyone wins. In this presentation, we will indicate key elements and access methods of our mobile tour program that allow for the ultimate interactive experience between you and your visitors.
