GeoPoint Systems, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand, location-based multimedia content to cell phones and other mobile devices, announced today a new partnership with Audissey Guides, the Boston-based audio content creators for iPods and MP3 players. This unique partnership will include cell phone walking tours of several U.S. cities. The first tour is set to launch in Boston, MA by mid-August. Audissey Guides uses local narrators, music, and ambient sound effects to immerse visitors in the local culture. GeoPoint Systems will provide the infrastructure to guide travelers through the historic, hidden sites of these U.S. cities. GeoPoint Systems, Inc. will lead the marketing effort behind the tours and will implement a unique distribution model which creates partnerships with local merchants. The Boston Audissey is priced at $8.95 and can be charged to any major credit card on the tour phone line: 617.850.9971. The two companies are very excited about the new partnership and the launch of the Boston tour. Says GeoPoint President & CEO Thomas Dunne, "This tour will give us an opportunity to showcase our service to the public while providing a fun and educational experience to visitors of Boston." The tour is described by Kevin Dooley, GeoPoint’s VP of Market Development as: "part exercise, part scavenger hunt and part history lesson as people follow audio clues to sites not normally found on tours of Boston. This truly is a unique city experience."
